Mswati’s Riot Police Assault Communist Party Activists After Mswati declares “An Eye for an Eye” Against Democracy Activists

Communist Party of Swaziland

Friday 5 August 2022:- This afternoon around 16:00hrs, a heavy batallion of Mswati’s riot police, known as the Swaziland Support Service Unit (OSSU) unleashed violence against activists of the Communist Party of Swaziland in Matsapha.

The police held and assaulted three of our comrades, rolling them on the ground near the traffic circle in Matsapha. The comrades are Central Committee Member Vuyiswa Maseko, Gcinizwi Lukhele and Kwazi Dube. The police are still holding them and the asault is continuing.

Mswati’s soldiers also joined the assault. Another CPS activist is on the run after having been pursued by the soldiers.

Today’s attack follows Mswati’s command during his Police Day speech at Matsapha Police College earlier today, commanding his brutal police to engage on an “eye for an eye” approach against those calling for democracy in Swaziland.

The CPS calls for the immediate release of its comrades, and also calls for solidarity.

Mswati’s security forces are continuing on their murder rampage in a desparate move to maintain the brutal tinkhundla system. The CPS will heighten its Democracy Now campaign, in unity with all democratic forces, for the total overthrow of Africa’s last absolute monarchy!
