Communist Party of Swaziland Statement

The Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) stands with the Cuban people in defence of their country and sovereignty against the latest acts of imperialist aggression spearheaded by the United States regime.
The US government is sponsoring counterrevolutionary forces in yet another bid to destroy the Cuban Revolution in its latest attempts to return Cuba and its people under the direct control of the United States.
In the recent actions by the United States, it aims to justify the tightening of the blockade with the 243 new sanctions imposed by former president Donald Trump which have been maintained with full force by President Joe Biden. These sanctions include more than 60 sanctions levied during the pandemic, consequently making the blockade even more genocidal.
The Cuban Revolution, by putting people before profit, has succeeded in developing the nation notwithstanding the United States’ unilateral and illegal crippling embargo which has been condemned by the United Nations in numerous UN General Assembly sessions.
In the latest UN vote held in June 2021, a total of 184 countries voted in favour of a resolution to demand the end of the United States economic blockade on Cuba, for the 29th year in a row, with only the United States and its apartheid ally, Israel, voting for the continuation of the illegal embargo.
The embargo has been imposed on the Cuban people by the USA government for more than 60 years. Yet despite the embargo, Cuba has been able to develop its people, increasing their quality of life, developed five vaccines, increased life expectancy to be among the highest in the world, and provided solidarity to people who needed it the most across the world, among a myriad of people-centred programmes.
The CPS reiterates its opposition to imperialist aggression, and calls upon all justice loving people of the world to intensify their defence of the right to national sovereignty of the Cuban people. The CPS calls for the unconditional lifting of the illegal embargo imposed on Cuba, along with the cessation of political and economic sabotage of Cuba spearheaded by the United States regime in various ways.
